Biography
Marissa Borschke joined Crabbe, Brown & James as an associate in 2020. Marissa moved to Columbus after completing both her undergraduate and law degree at Indiana University. As a former member of the women’s soccer team at IU, Marissa thrives in the team atmosphere of Crabbe, Brown & James.
Marissa’s practice focuses on general defense litigation which includes insurance defense, personal injury claims, employment law, contract disputes, estate and minor settlement hearings, and constitutional violation claims. Her experience includes drafting pleadings and motions, completing discovery, leading and defending depositions, attending mediation, negotiating settlements, and managing clients.
Within her first years of practicing, Marissa was the lead counsel for a jury trial in an automobile liability dispute, was second chair for various injunction hearings regarding contract disputes, as well as presented before 80-90 lawyers at the National Fraternal Order of Police Legal Counselor Seminar.

Won summary judgment in the Southern District of Ohio for a discrimination claim against Central Ohio Transit Authority. (Dijon v. Central Ohio Transit Authority, Case No. 2:20-cv-05873) (appeal pending).
Secured a favorable verdict for the insured in a jury trial regarding an automobile accident in Cleveland, Ohio. Prayer for relief: $25,000, Jury Verdict: $4,500. (Harris v. Ahmad, Case No. CV 19 927147).
Represented the buyer in closing a multi-million-dollar purchase of McDonalds franchises.
Helped as second-chair in securing injunction in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas in favor Capital City Mechanical, Inc. to enforce a non-competition provision in an employee contract. (CCM v. Bartoe, Case No. 21CV002482).
